Death of the World’s Dirtiest Man
Amou Haji was named the world’s dirtiest man, refusing to bathe for 60 years out of the 94 years of his life.
Amou Haji is a relatively unknown person, Amou Haji isn’t his real name but a literal translation of “Uncle Haji.” Haji is an honorific name given to followers of Islam after completing their Hajj to Mecca possibly meaning he had a religious background before he was brought into the spotlight.
Recently on the 23rd of October, he died of illness after taking a bath. The villagers in Kahrar-e Dejgah convinced him to wash and he died around that time but there’s no evidence that it killed him.
Amou Haji, on top of refusing to wash, smoked an extreme amount of cigarettes and had been reported to eat roadkill and wild animals.
