This fall, many fashion trends of different types of shoes, clothing, and makeup, have been spotted around school. When we interviewed students, they listed the fall fashion trends that people should follow and what is out of trend.
According to sophomore Sophie Richardson, the biggest fashion trends this fall are wide-leg jeans, ultra mini uggs, cute sweaters and vests, and leather pants.. Additionally, aerie flared leggings are trending, and flared jeans have come back in trend. Her favorite trend to follow is platform shoes, and she enjoys wearing leggings this fall.
When asking how many trends she has spotted around school, she says she has seen a bunch during chapel, including leather pants and bodysuits. She wears many trending outfits and loves her clothing from Zara and Aritzia. She has seen these fashion trends online, through Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok, but says that flannel and turtlenecks have gone out of trend. Additionally, her least favorite fall fashion trend is sherpa sweaters.
Dior Brown is a fashionable 9th grader at SSSAS. She says that colored jeans with a cute top are in and bright colors are out. She’s glad she doesn’t see skirts with leggings around the school but is seeing lots of Nike blazers, Dunks, and Jordans. She loves wearing dresses and jean jackets, but doesn’t really wear leggings and hoodies. Dior sees a lot of these trends day to day but definitely sees lots on social media. She is hoping to find cute outfits for colder weather.
Caroline Schyler is also a freshman at SSSAS, and is excited to see the new fall fashion trends this year. She has a very similar style to Sophie Richardson and agrees with her biggest trending ideas. She has already seen Mini Ugg boots and flared leggings around the St. Stephen’s hallways this fall. She loves wearing sweatshirts and crewnecks to keep her warm and finds a lot of outfit inspo on Tik Tok, Instagram and VSCO. Caroline sees vests, flared jeans and sweatpants with tight tops coming into the fashion scene in the future but hopes she won’t see any sherpas or lululemon with jeans. She loves fashion and can’t wait for more fall fashion trends.
Chloe Lambert is a sophomore at SSSAS, and she says that Hoka shoes, Charlotte Tilbury bronzer, and sweatpants with crop tops are a large trend here at school.
Her favorite trends are jean shorts with sweaters and sweatpants with nice tops, and enjoys wearing flared leggings with an oversized sweater. According to Chloe, “jorts,” which are longer jean shorts, are her least favorite clothing trend and don’t look good. Additionally, she says thick headbands and colored leggings have faded but flared pants came back. Twenty-five percent of her outfits are in the fall fashion trend, and inspired from Tiktok and Pinterest, and many of her outfits are from Aritzia and Brandy Melville.
Because many people here at SSSAS are over-bronzing as part of a trend, she predicts that over-blushing could also be a future trend.
